Dear Pradeep Gupta sir ,
Greetings from Himalayan Sathi Tours & Travels! Our team has put together this quote for your upcoming Sikkim-Darjeeling trip. Please go through it and let us know if you’d like any changes to the services below. Our contact details are provided at the end of this document.
On arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our driver who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok. On arrival check into the hotel and enjoy the day at leisure. GANGTOK: At an altitude of 1750 m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid-19th century and has undergone rapid development since then — the downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a gateway for people travelling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by monasteries and orchids, Gangtok is truly a traveller's delight.
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for a full-day local sightseeing tour of Gangtok covering Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point, Ban Jhakri Falls, Rumtek Monastery and the Gangtok Ropeway (subject to timings). In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk along MG Marg, Gangtok's pedestrian-only promenade lined with cafés, handicraft shops and local eateries.
Breakfast at the hotel and full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), 35 kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snow off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the colour of the lake's waters. Continue on to Baba Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh. Note: Nathula Pass is optional and chargeable extra — –5,500 (per vehicle). As per government rule, sharing at Nathula is not permitted; guests wishing to visit must book a private SUV, and a valid permit is required in advance.
Breakfast at the hotel, later proceed to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or the "Toy Train," completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world's highest peaks. On arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Early morning visit Tiger Hill to see a beautiful sunrise and the Himalayan range, including Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest. One can see the horizon changing colours just before sunrise, and then the entire Himalayan range turns golden. On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery, the oldest monastery in the area, built in 1875, home to a 15 ft. image of Maitreya Buddha, then visit Batasia Loop. After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday) — started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock / Gombu Rock, Tea Estate (from outside), and the Japanese Peace Pagoda.
After breakfast, enjoy a memorable ride on the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Toy Train. Experience the beautiful mountain views, charming hills, and scenic tea gardens along the way. The ride offers a unique glimpse of Darjeeling’s heritage and is perfect for creating unforgettable holiday memories.
Note: Toy train tickets are subject to availability and are included in the package for 5 people .
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station in time for your flight/train to onward destination.
