Booking

How do I book a tour package with Himalayan Sathi?
You can book a tour by filling out the inquiry form on our website, sending us an email, or calling our support numbers. Once we receive your requirements, our travel experts will share a customized itinerary and quote. After you approve the itinerary, you can confirm the booking by paying an advance amount.
What is the advance booking amount required?
To confirm a booking, we require an advance payment of 30% to 50% of the total tour cost, depending on the destination and the season. The remaining balance must be cleared before the commencement of the tour or upon arrival, as specified in your booking confirmation.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, we offer special discounted rates for corporate groups, student groups, and large family gatherings. Please mention the number of travelers when submitting your inquiry to receive our best group pricing.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via Bank Transfer (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS), UPI, major Credit/Debit Cards, and online payment gateways. All transactions are secure and receipt of payment will be acknowledged immediately.

Cancellation

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival incur a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations between 15-30 days incur a 25% fee. Between 7-15 days, a 50% fee applies. No refunds are provided for cancellations made less than 7 days before the trip or in case of a no-show. Refunds take 7-10 working days to process.

Travel Tips

Do I need special permits to visit Sikkim and Bhutan?
Yes. For Sikkim, certain areas like Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, and North Sikkim require Protected Area Permits. For Bhutan, tourists require a visa (for foreign nationals) or entry permits (for Indians), along with paying the mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). Himalayan Sathi handles all permit arrangements for our booked guests.
What should I pack for a Himalayan tour?
Packing depends on the season and altitude. Generally, layering is recommended. Bring warm clothes (jackets, thermals, sweaters) for evenings and high altitudes, comfortable walking/trekking shoes, sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen), an umbrella or raincoat, and basic personal medicines.

General

How do we prevent altitude sickness?
To prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), it is crucial to acclimatize properly by ascending gradually. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol and smoking during the first few days, and eat light meals. If you feel dizzy or nauseous, inform your guide or driver immediately to descend to a lower altitude.
When is the best time to visit the Himalayas?
The best times are generally Spring (March to May) for blooming flowers and pleasant weather, and Autumn (October to November) for clear skies and excellent mountain views. Monsoons (July-August) can be challenging due to landslides, while winters (Dec-Feb) are great for snow lovers but can be extremely cold.
Is it safe for solo female travelers?
Absolutely. The Himalayan regions of Darjeeling, Sikkim, Bhutan, and the Northeast are known for being some of the safest places for travelers, including solo females. We provide trusted, verified drivers and standard accommodations to ensure a completely safe and comfortable journey.
